In collaboration with UMIAILE Co., Ltd., a start-up company specializing in marine robotics, Starlite is participating in research on maritime surveillance and control systems led by the Defense Innovation Science and Technology Institute of the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA).
The research is part of the demonstration-type breakthrough research initiative promoted by the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA). The New Media Development Association, a general incorporated foundation, has taken on the task. This project is being pursued by a consortium of 11 companies and research institutions with expertise in fields such as marine development, communications, and data analysis. The goal is to establish maritime surveillance and control systems that enable the visualization of the ocean by coordinating the deployment of numerous unmanned surface vessels across a wide maritime area to monitor maritime conditions in real time.
In this project, Starlite is providing technical expertise in the areas of materials, structural design, and durability evaluation of the equipment used in marine environments. In collaboration with project members, we are developing technology capable of operating long-term under harsh conditions, such as strong tidal currents and salt damage.
