As part of corporate environmental responsibility initiatives, there is an increasing focus on reducing Scope 3 CO2 emissions. Automobile production involves numerous processes, but the painting process is said to be the largest source of CO2 emissions.
Aesthetics is the most important selling point of a vehicle. Functional improvements that increase long-term durability, such as multi-layer coatings and reduced fading, are also progressing. Our proposal for resolving such social challenges and enhancing product value is to eliminate painting by using film on resin exterior parts.
A film is applied to the surface of the base parts.
This film offers the same quality as paint and enables decoration with patterns and color tones that are difficult to achieve with paint. CO2 emissions during this process have been significantly reduced. With the advancement of CASE, adding radio wave permeability and light transparency to the film can give exterior parts multiple functions.
