SETO iS POWER Co., Ltd. (“SETO”), a startup promoting locally generated and consumed tidal power generation, took the stage as one of the startups representing J-Startup WEST at the “J-Startup WEST × CVC vs. CVC” event held in Takamatsu City on June 19 (sponsored by the Shikoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Chugoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry).
This event was also attended by companies such as ANA Holdings, Paramount Bed, KDDI, TOPPAN Holdings, and Shikoku Kasei Holdings, which are working to collaborate with startups through their corporate venture capital (CVC)* programs. Eight startups certified by J-Startup WEST also gave business presentations, creating an opportunity for networking that can lead to new collaborative efforts and business partnerships.

SETO CEO Fujiwara, who gave a pitch, spoke passionately about his vision to revitalize the Seto Inland Sea through tidal power generation. Starlite is contributing to its advanced plastic technologies to make tidal power generation units lighter, highly efficient, and highly durable. A prototype is currently being developed, and efforts to implement it in society are progressing steadily. We will continue to share updates on our collaborative efforts with SETO and initiatives aimed at the practical implementation of tidal power generation on the TOMOTSUKU LAB page.
