Predict motion-induced noise! Motion CAE technology

Simulation technology is essential in vehicle development. In particular, model-based development (MBD), which connects simulation results to predict vehicle performance, is now widely used.

One of Starlite’s core competencies is computer-aided engineering (CAE), which we use for the performance design of plastic parts and units. We develop technologies for the next generation of robots by applying CAE technology.

Specifically, our goal is to use resin materials to create reducer units that are lighter, more compact, and run more quietly, while still accurately transmitting motor movement to the arms. The load bearing capacity of gears can be predicted to some extent through theoretical calculations, but predicting the noise generated by the complex interactions between components has been considered difficult.

It was believed that the only way to understand this issue was to actually make the product. However, with vibration analysis CAE, we can now predict noise generation beforehand. The number of planetary gears and the number of teeth can be designed optimally, leading to shorter development times.
